are you trying to do all the things?

Jul 12, 2023

I often find, especially with clients who don't hold many events, or aren't as confident with running events, that they try to achieve 'all the things' with just one event.

I get it, events are expensive so we absolutely want to maximise the ROI. But if we have too much going on, or it's not clear what we're doing, or the audience isn't right, we won't achieve anything.

It's ok to have multiple objectives & goals for your event, but if I could give you one piece of advice - focus on one key objective as your main priority and plan the event around that. Events will often naturally result in a few other benefits anyway.

If I think about launch events, you might have one main objective and a secondary goal might be to get some media/PR as well, and that's ok.

But if you have an event where you've got 3 or 4 things you want to achieve (reasons you're holding the event), perhaps consider if they need to be separate events.

Happy planning!
